Dear Parents:
A reminder that classes start at 8:50 am. It is important that students be in class by that time.
Please remember to have lunch money and orders in on Monday if your child is at school on that day.
Students will be going outside, weather permitting, so they need to be dressed for the conditions.
The school will be involved in a campaign to supply the Caring Cupbard. Our goal is to have 400 food items collected by next Wednesday, December 15th. If this goal is achieved students will have a Hat Day on Thursday, December 16th. Items must not be expired or perishable. Items could include: crackers, candy, canned meat/fish, hamburger helper, spaghetti, sugar, peanut butter, cereal, soup, stuffing, cheese whiz, pancake mix and syrup, etc.
Our Christmas Concert will be on Friday, December 17th. The first performance starts at 9:30 am for parents and family members of students whose last name starts with A to G. The afternoon performance starts at 1:00 pm for last names from H to Z. If school is DELAYED OR CANCELLED on Friday, December 17th, the Christmas Concert will be held on Monday, December 20th.
There will be an Active Parenting of Teens program offered starting January 13, 2011, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm in the Vogue Optical building, 479 Church Street in Alberton. To register or for more information call Rene Tremblay at 853-9300.
Please read the Western School Board Inclement Weather and School Closure policy on the reverse side of this newsletter.
Our last day of school before Christmas break is Wednesday, December 22nd and our first day back in the new year is Tuesday, January 4th. This will be the last newsletter of 2010. I want to take the opportunity, on behalf of the staff, to thank all parents and guardians for your support during the past four months. Please take careful note of the dates listed in the newsletter.
Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year!
Sincerely,
Craig Blanche
Principal
